Group Visit to Dovecote Park 18th October 2017!Carolyn Vickers-Lingard
I am delighted to announce that we have secured a FREE invitation for a site visit to the highly renowned Dovecote Park near Pontefract on Wednesday 18th October 2017. As many of you will know, Dovecote Park is proud to supply the very finest British beef, veal and venison to Waitrose supermarkets nationwide.
Established in Yorkshire in 1997, the company prides itself on maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry. Dovecote Park’s operations are split between two dedicated sites – the original plant in picturesque North Yorkshire, where we have been invited to tour, is situated between the idyllic villages of Stapleton and Darrington, and a secondary site at Skellingthorpe in Lincolnshire.
As one of the top independent processors in the United Kingdom, Dovecote Park is a leading and progressive company in their field, committed to delivering all the integrity, traceability, and assurance that customers should expect from a purely British supply chain. I am sure it will be a fascinating place to visit and we shall see the whole process from “Hoof to Retail Pack”
If any of you would like to come along with us on this site visit, exclusively for North Lincs Rural Training Group members, then do let me know as soon as possible. We have been asked to arrive at 8.30am for a 9.00am start on Wednesday 18th October 2017 with a tour of the processing plant with the Dovecote Park Livestock Schemes Manager. We envisage the tour to last the full morning so we can finish off with a lovely lunch in their on-site canteen (at our own expense). Once we know names and numbers of those wishing to go, we shall try to arrange some car sharing and make our own way up there.
The full postal address of the Park is as follows: Dovecote Park Ltd, Bank Wood Road, Stapleton, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, WF8 3DD

I really look forward to hearing from those of you who may wish to come along. I can’t wait!!
