    PA1 – Foundation in the Safe Use of Pesticides – 1 Day – More 2020 dates to be advised.

    The next course date: TO BE ADVISED with City & Guilds assessment TAKEN ON THE SAME DAY.

    This 1 day Safe Use of Pesticides PA1 training course takes place in a classroom environment with the City & Guilds NPTC computerised assessment taken at the end of the day’s training.  Our very experienced Instructor provides his own workbooks for you to take away and product labels to study. All refreshments and a homemade lunch is served too on this one day course.

    Some of the topics covered are as follows:

    • Product Labels
    • Storage of Chemicals
    • Environmental management
    • Handling of Chemicals
    • Record keeping
    • Personal Protective Equipment

    Subject to successfully passing the assessment on the day, City & Guilds will provide you with a Qualification Certificate.  Once further pesticide modules are taken and assessments successfully completed then a Skills ID Card will be issued showing all the City & Guilds units you have attained.

    All refreshments and lunch are included on this course.

    PA2A – Ground Crop Sprayer (Hydraulic Nozzle) – 1 Day – Next course date: 12th March 2020

    Next course date: 12th March 2020. 

    This 1 day PA2A Ground Crop Sprayer training course takes place partly in a classroom environment and partly outdoors. The first part of the day’s training looks at PPE, Product Labels and the Nozzles of the Sprayer.  Our very experienced Instructor provides his own workbooks for you to take away and product labels to study.  The practical element of the course takes the trainees outside where the Sprayer is inspected and training given on how it works.  The sprayer will then be filled with water and an area used in a nearby field to demonstrate its operation. Each trainee will get to use the sprayer under the supervision of the Instructor. (No chemicals are used on the training day!)

    • Product Labels
    • Calibration of the Sprayer and the Nozzles
    • Environmental management
    • Handling of Chemicals
    • Record keeping
    • Personal Protective Equipment

    Following the training day, our Lincolnshire Assessment Centre will contact each trainee to arrange a City & Guilds assessment at their own premises on their own sprayer.  Once the assessment is successfully completed then a Skills ID Card will be issued showing all the City & Guilds units which have been attained to date.

    PA4 (G) Granular Applicator – Half a Day – Next course date: 27th March 2020.

    Next course dates: 27th March 2020 with City & Guilds assessment to follow. 

    This half day PA4G Granular Applicator training course takes place partly in a classroom environment and partly outdoors. The first part of the day’s training looks at PPE, Product Labels and the workings of the Granular Applicator. Our very experienced Instructor provides his own workbooks for you to take away and product labels to study.  The practical element of the course takes the trainees outside where the Granular Applicator is inspected and training given on how it works.  The applicator will then be filled with dummy granules (e.g. dummy Avadex granules) and an area used in a nearby yard to demonstrate its operation. Each trainee will get to use the applicator under the supervision of the Instructor. (No real Granular chemicals are used on the training day!)

    • Product Labels
    • Calibration of the Granular Applicator
    • Environmental management
    • Handling of the Chemical granules
    • Record keeping
    • Personal Protective Equipment

    Following the training day, our Lincolnshire Assessment Centre will contact each trainee to arrange a City & Guilds assessment at their own premises on their own Granular Applicator.  Once the assessment is successfully completed then a Skills ID Card will be issued showing all the City & Guilds units which have been attained to date.

    PA4 (S) Slug Pellet Applicator – Half a Day – Next course date: 27th March 2020.

    This half day PA4S Slug Pelleter training course takes place partly in a classroom environment and partly outdoors. The first part of the day’s training looks at PPE, Product Labels and the workings of the Slug Pelleter.  Our very experienced Instructor provides his own workbooks for you to take away and product labels to study.  The practical element of the course takes the trainees outside where the Slug Pelleter Applicator is inspected and training given on how it works.  The applicator will then be filled with dummy slug pellets and an area used in a nearby yard to demonstrate its operation. Each trainee will get to use the applicator under the supervision of the Instructor. (No real Slug Pellets are used on the training day!)

    PA6A – Knapsack Sprayer/Hand-held Applicator – 1 Day – Next course date: 5th March 2020

    Next Course date:  5th March 2020 with City & Guilds assessment to follow.

    This 1 day PA6A Knapsack Sprayer training course takes place partly in a classroom environment and partly outdoors. The first part of the day’s training looks at PPE, Product Labels and the Calibration of the Handheld Applicator.  Our very experienced Instructor provides his own workbooks for you to take away and product labels to study.  The practical element of the course takes the trainees outside where an area is marked out and sprayed with water using the earlier calculations made to cover such an area in a timely manner.  (No chemicals are used on the training day!)

    Some of the topics covered are as follows:

    • Product Labels
    • Calculations and Calibrations of the Applicator
    • Environmental management
    • Handling of Chemicals
    • Record keeping
    • Personal Protective Equipment
